(Kaieteur News) – Guyana earned US$826.2 million from gold exports in the first half of 2026, an increase of US$269.8 million compared with the same period in 2025. This is according to the Ministry of Finance’s Mid-Year Report 2026.
The increase in gold export earnings was attributed to favourable prices during the first six months of the year.
According to the report, non-oil export earnings increased by 24.6 per cent to US$1.146 billion in the first half of 2026, compared with the same period last year. Overall export earnings rose by 76.4 per cent to US$16.1997 billion, largely reflecting an 82.1 per cent increase in crude oil earnings to US$15.0537 billion, supported by higher world market prices and increased export volumes.
