THE United States is the only country with the money and equipment to defend Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has said.

Persad-Bissessar was addressing concerns over rising geopolitical tensions between the United States and Venezuela, and defended her Government’s alignment with the US on Thursday evening.

Speaking at a “Christmas supper” for staff members and public officers at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, the Prime Minister said America would come to Trinidad and Tobago’s aid if this country were to be attacked.
