‘You never know what someone is going through’

As 22-year-old law student Tiffany Raghoonanan was laid to rest on Monday morning, relatives and loved ones who gathered at her family home in New Grant urged those in attendance to treat others with care, and to check in on those quietly struggling.

Raghoonanan, a former St Joseph’s Convent San Fernando student and national bursary scholar is believed to have died by suicide last week. She was enrolled at University of the West Indies St Augustine (UWI) faculty of Law. 

As they remembered her life on Monday, relatives described Raghoonanan as a brilliant, and ambitious young woman, who was working toward a future that her family would have been proud of.
