A 57-year-old Siparia man drowned at Los Iros Beach on Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Selvon Ramjit of Erin Road, Quarry Village. He had gone to the beach with relatives and entered the water at about 3:30 pm.
Relatives told police he began struggling about 15 minutes later. A lifeguard pulled him to shore and administered CPR, but he remained unresponsive. Emergency Health Services technicians later confirmed he had no vital signs.
