A 48-year-old man was shot dead by police in Golconda early Friday morning after police claim he pointed a firearm at officers.
The deceased has been identified as Ertis La Foucade of Temple Street Extension, Ridgewood Gardens, Golconda.
Around 4:51 a.m., officers from the Mon Repos CID and Mon Repos Police Station responded to a report at La Foucade’s residence. Upon arrival, two police officers entered the home under the Emergency Powers Regulations 2025. They said they found La Foucade sitting on the foot of his bed, wearing a white vest and multi-coloured boxers.
