ST MARY, Jamaica —Member of Parliament for St Mary Central Omar Newell has handed over a second vehicle to the Horace Clarke High School automotive department to assist students with external examinations and the development of a driver-education programme.
Newell, who handed over a 2011 Mazda Familia to the school on Tuesday, called on Corporate Jamaica to help develop the automotive programme at the institution.
“Students need the opportunity to work on an actual vehicle and apply what they are learning in the classroom. Every part of this car can become a lesson, including the faults that they will have to diagnose and repair,” Newell said.
