With just one month to go before Christmas, a widow and her two children have been left homeless after a fire destroyed their home in Penal. 

Despite efforts by neighbouring relatives, the apartment on Puzzle Island, Suchit Trace, was gutted. 

Very little was salvaged from the charred debris and water-soaked floors, and even the family’s Christmas tree had to be discarded.
