Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander has defended Police Constable Keron Sankar, who was recently recognised by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) for issuing 1,427 traffic tickets between January and June this year.
Sankar, a member of the southern team of the Highway Patrol Operations Unit, was honoured at a police commendation ceremony held at the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain on July 31.
Speaking at the Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s breakfast meeting at Passage to Asia on Thursday, Alexander responded to public criticism of the recognition.
