Woman in viral abuse video speaks out

A WOMAN who identified herself as the person seen being verbally and physically abused in a video circulating on social media has spoken publicly about the incident.

In a social media post, the woman, who only gave her name as Leslie Ann, said the altercation involving a man she identified as Joel occurred about a year and two months ago and said the injuries shown in the video had not completely healed. In the video the woman is a passenger in a vehicle and is abused by the driver.

Leslie Ann said she had seen the photographs, video and comments circulating online and acknowledged that she was the woman shown in the footage. She said there was “so much more” in the background of what had happened, but did not provide further details.
