A man and woman who went out to sea to fish from Toco on Monday were found drifting offshore on Wednesday afternoon, following a search operation after they failed to return home.

Police said the couple had left around 4 pm on February 9 to go fishing from Paria Main Road, Toco, despite reports of rough seas and large swells along the north coast.

They were later reported missing when relatives raised concerns about their failure to return.
