Beck­les and the oth­er re­gion­al lead­ers al­so com­mend­ed out­go­ing Prime Min­is­ter Dr Ralph Gon­salves, whose Uni­ty Labour Par­ty (ULP) was de­feat­ed by Fri­day’s New De­mo­c­ra­t­ic Par­ty (NDP), end­ing 24 years of op­po­si­tion and re­turn­ing the NDP to pow­er.
