Support Sea Lots women in their cries for help against unrest and violence in their community.
This was the message yesterday from gender equality expert Dr Asha Kambon, who spoke at the International Women’s Day march at Woodford Square in Port of Spain, where civil society and advocacy groups gathered for accelerated action on issues affecting women in Trinidad and Tobago.
Kambon said more can be done to facilitate peace using the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPFA), adopted at the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women, which had a comprehensive global agenda for achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls in 12 critical areas.
