THE FATHER of one of two men who were shot dead by police in Buccoo on Thursday is claiming that his son was murdered by cops.
The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on October 8. Police report a silver Aqua motorcar was travelling along the Golden Grove Road, Buccoo when officers ordered the occupants to stop.
Police said there was an exchange of gunfire and two suspects were shot. One suspect died at the scene the other while the other later died at the Scarborough General Hospital. One police officer was injured during the exchange of gunfire and was rushed to hospital. The incident, which occurred off Shirvan Road, was the first police killing for the year in Tobago. The total number of police killings for the year stand at 33.
