A CURRENT national footballer, a former national footballer, the son of a former national footballer and another man are now in police custody for narcotics following an operation by officers of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Central Tri­nidad last evening.

Sources told the Express that the men had been under surveillance for some time now prior to the bust. Between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., officers from the SIU, along with other senior officers, descended on the pre­mises and held the four men including two aged 34 and 35.

During the search of the pre­mises, police seized a quantity of narcotics, however, sources last night could not confirm the quantity or the type of narcotics inside the house.
