A national footballer and an ex-national footballer who were among four held by police after a quantity of narcotics were seized have been released.
The four were held at a home in Cunupia on Tuesday following an operation by officers of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
Sources previously told the Express that the men had been under surveillance for some time now prior to the bust. Between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., officers from the SIU, along with other senior officers, descended on the premises, seized two ounces or 56.7 grammes of marijuana (the legal amount is 30 grammes) and held the four men. They were taken into custody and transported to a police station in the Port of Spain area.
