A 22-year-old woman was killed af­ter two ve­hi­cles col­lid­ed near De­onar­ine Junc­tion in Cou­va on Sun­day.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the de­ceased as Adana Alexan­der of Cal­cut­ta Road, Mc Bean, Cou­va. She was a back­seat pas­sen­ger in a sil­ver Toy­ota Field­er.

Around 4:40 am, the Toy­ota Field­er, dri­ven by a 21-year-old woman from Freeport, was head­ing north along Mc Bean Road. On reach­ing De­onar­ine Junc­tion, the dri­ver re­port­ed­ly at­tempt­ed to turn right in­to Cal­cut­ta Road No. 3 and col­lid­ed with a Nis­san Ce­firo trav­el­ling south.
