DEPUTY Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin said yesterday that despite the ruling of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) that there was insufficient evidence to charge Erla Harewood-Christopher, the broader investigation into the acquisition of two high-powered rifles by the Strategic Services Agency (SSA) is still ongoing.
The Express reached out to DCP Martin yesterday, following an announcement on Saturday evening by DPP Roger Gaspard SC regarding the investigation into Erla Harewood-Christopher over allegations of misbehaviour in public office.
Gaspard said; “In this matter, on the evidence, I am of the view that there is no realistic prospect of a conviction for the offence of misbehaviour in public office or for any offence and accordingly it would be legally wrong to proceed further.”
