A teenaged boy was arrested on a school compound Wednesday, after he was found in possession of a quantity of cannabis.

According to a police media release on Thursday, reports indicate that a security guard at a secondary school in the Southern Division, conducted a search of a male student’s book bag, around 8.05 a.m. The search resulted in the discovery of a quantity of cannabis inside the bag.

The school’s administration and officers of the Division were informed about the matter and the boy arrested in connection with the find. The minor was charged with Possession of Cannabis and is expected to appear before the Children Court, Fyzabad, on Friday October 3rd, 2025.
