DIEGO Martin North/East MP Colm Imbert has criticised the Government’s plan to make it mandatory for citizens to carry identification at all times, calling the move “draconian” and “oppressive.”
The proposed measure announced by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander is intended to assist law enforcement in enforcing upcoming legal changes that would raise the minimum age for alcohol consumption, marijuana use, and gambling.
Alexander made the statement during last week’s post-Cabinet news conference.
