TURNING 50 is more than a milestone birthday with its once in a lifetime celebration with friends and family. Financially, it is an important checkpoint; a time to examine where you are, where you want to be and whether your current financial habits and lifestyle will help you get there. For some, turning 50 brings a sense of confidence and comfort. Retirement savings and investments are progressing well and on track to achieve their long-term financial objectives.
For others, however, this milestone can cause great concern and even sleepless nights as the ‘what ifs’ surface. What if you have not saved enough? What if you are still carrying significant debt? What if unexpected circumstances have disrupted your financial plans and reduced the ‘nest egg’ you worked so had to build? What if?
Whatever your situation, 50 is not the time to give up. It is the time to become more intentional, focused and more disciplined about your financial future.
