Independent Senator and head of the National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC) Deoroop Teemal died yesterday at the age of 68.
Teemal, who for years was a senator and a senior organiser of the Divali Nagar, promoting and encouraging the preservation of East Indian culture via the NCIC, passed away yesterday morning at his home in St Augustine.
Teemal was a civil and structural engineer and project manager who, according to the Parliament’s website, was an expert in Project Management, Contract Administration, Construction Implementation and Water and Wastewater Engineering.
