New buses that are designed to drive on Tobago’s hilly terrain, a new cargo vessel for Tobago, a state-of-the-art marina, high-quality hotels, its own MiLAT programme and homes for abused women and children.
These were some of the promises made by Prime Minister Stuart Young as he addressed a public meeting in Tobago on Sunday night. Young also promised 12 new interceptors for border patrol, two of which would go to Tobago , the enlargement of the electricity grid in Tobago; and to work on the expansion and upgrade of the cruise ship complex in Scarborough.
In addition, Young promised that projects executed by the Central Government will have a “serious component of local content in terms of contractors and the labour force”.
