(Kaieteur News) – Brandon King’s unbeaten 81 and captain Roston Chase’s five-wicket haul powered the West Indies to a convincing eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the opening Test in Mirpur, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
Chasing 170 for victory on a challenging surface, the West Indies reached 173 for two, with King anchoring the innings through an unbeaten 115-ball knock that included 10 fours and a six.
The right-hander shared a commanding 112-run opening partnership with John Campbell, putting the visitors firmly in control despite several interruptions caused by poor light, rain and lightning.
