(Kaieteur News) – West Indies seized the initiative on the second day of their Test encounter against Bangladesh in Mirpur, despite a late batting collapse that kept the hosts in contention before rain and bad light forced an early close.
After bowling Bangladesh out for 272, West Indies reached 134 for 4 at stumps, trailing by 138 runs, with Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Justin Greaves providing resistance in an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership.
Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican led the West Indies bowling attack with an impressive five-wicket haul, claiming 5 for 53, while debutant Joshua Bishop also played a crucial role in dismantling Bangladesh’s batting order.
