THE Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) has received over 400 reports of bush-fires for the season.
This according to acting Chief Fire Officer Andy Hutchinson, who said the bushfire season began on December 1, 2025, and ends on June 30, 2026.
Responding to questions from the Express yesterday, Hutchinson said one of the leading causes of bush-fires along the highway and roadways was as a result of 'carelessly discarded cigarette butts'.
