In an attempt towards easing the country’s growing traffic congestion, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Senator Eli Zakour, held talks today with Chief Traffic Warden Neville Sankar. The meeting, held as part of an ongoing series with ministry divisions, aimed at identifying immediate strategies to improve traffic flow and public mobility across Trinidad and Tobago.
Zakour expressed serious concern over the mounting challenges commuters face during peak hours, describing the daily gridlock as unacceptable and calling for “smart, people-centred interventions.”
To this end, he issued a directive for tighter collaboration between the Traffic Management Branch and the Traffic Warden Division. The goal is more coordinated, timely, and effective responses to traffic challenges.
