(Kaieteur News) – Following his release from police lockups on Friday, Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed has vehemently denounced a late-night shooting incident on Barr Street, Kitty, labeling it a premeditated assassination attempt.
His allegations were further detailed and supported by former Assistant Police Commissioner Paul Slowe on his show, SPEAKING OUT EXPOSING CORRUPTION AND INCOMPETENCE (Season 5, Episode 122, aired October 16, 2026), where Slowe characterised the government’s narrative as a complete setup.
Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse immediately after securing bail, Mohamed detailed the sequence of events that led him into the Kitty area on Monday night. He explained that his journey began after receiving a call around 10:00 p.m. from two parents regarding an incident at Ramakrishna Primary School on Middleton Street, Kitty, where a faulty school gate had fallen onto two children, ages six and seven. Mohamed stated that the children suffered severe injuries, noting that they are yet to receive any scans or MRIs despite concerns of internal head injuries, causing them to miss a week of school. He called on Minister Sonia Parag to ensure the faulty gate is fixed, explaining that he decided to take a drive along Middleton Street to observe the issue firsthand before a scheduled morning meeting with the parents.
