Police Service responds to claims about duty payments

The Barbados Police Service is responding to what it describes as misinformation circulated by activist Winston Clarke via his ‘Come Out Tings’ social media platform yesterday, concerning payment for extra-duty and flexible responsibility duties performed by police officers.

In a statement, Commissioner of Police Sonia Boyce made it clear that payment for all allowances submitted for duties performed in June was made, while payments for duties performed in July and August are due to be made this month.

Commissioner Boyce also notes that the misinformation being pushed by Mr Clarke via social media seeks to place the Police Administration in a negative light and continues to create concerns among members of the Service and the public.
