Two armed suspects robbed a Subway restaurant on Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook, on Wednesday afternoon, making off with employees’ valuables and cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m., while five employees were on duty. According to police reports, two men dressed in black—one with his face covered—entered the establishment. One of the suspects ordered the staff to the back of the restaurant, while the second stood guard.
In the back, the suspects demanded money from the employees. A 22-year-old female staff member from Morvant was robbed of her Samsung A72 smartphone, valued at $3,000, and a 40-year-old employee from Laventille was forced to hand over her iPhone 8 Plus, valued at $1,000.
