ATTORNEY General John Jeremie has announced that the government has been granted a six-month OFAC licence by the US to pursue the Dragon gas deal, but only to begin negotiations with Venezuela.
Jeremie made the announcement at the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs office in Port of Spain.
He said the grant of the licence represents the diplomacy of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
