The Bourda Burial Ground on Regent Street, Georgetown is undergoing a major clean-up and rehabilitation exercise as the Local Government and Regional Development Ministry moves to improve the condition of public burial grounds across Guyana.
Local Government and Regional Development Minister, Priya Manickchand visited the site, where workers have been clearing dense vegetation and accumulated debris that had left sections of the historic cemetery overgrown and difficult to access.
The restoration works include repairing the perimeter fence, improving pathways and carrying out general maintenance of the grounds.
