A teen and a man have been arrested and two firearms and a quantity of ammunition seized on Monday morning.

According to a police media release, officers of the Siparia Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested the suspects during a routine mobile patrol in the Santa Flora district.

Around 2.40 a.m. on May 12, PCs Austin and Rampersad were conducting patrols along the SS Erin Road in the direction of Siparia when they observed two males acting suspiciously near the Fyzabad Field Road. The suspects, a 16-year-old of Rifle Range Road, Palo Seco, and a 20-year-old of Webber Trace, Palo Seco, were seen fidgeting with a bag before quickly attempting to walk away whilst looking in the direction of the marked police vehicle. The officers stopped and searched the individuals.
