At the grounds that provided the stage for some of his exploits, a grateful nation gathered at Kensington Oval not only to say goodbye, but to celebrate the life of a remarkable Barbadian whose achievements on the cricket field were unparalleled.
Those accomplishments, along with his humility, grace and patriotism, made the National Hero, the Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers, a national treasure.
