It was time for the National Hero, the Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers’s final departure from Kensington Oval as the cortège made its way to his resting place at Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens.
As the procession moved along the route, Barbadians lined the streets in quiet reflection and deep respect, paying tribute to a man whose impact reached far beyond the cricket field.
