After a rescheduled semifinal at the Socadrome on Friday night, Ravi Lakhan emerged as the winner of that round of the King of Carnival competition.
The semifinal round was postponed on Wednesday after heavy showers during the competition partially damaged the costumes, prompting organisers to eventually cancel the King’s semifinal.
Initially, all 20 Kings would have advanced to the Dimanche Gras final. However, on Thursday, the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival Bands Association (TTCBA) decided to hold a rejigged semifinal at the Jean Pierre Complex on Friday.
