Twen­ty Car­ni­val Kings and 10 Car­ni­val Queens will com­pete at Sun­day night’s Di­manche Gras show.

The dis­par­i­ty in num­bers fol­lows a de­ci­sion by the T&T Car­ni­val Bands As­so­ci­a­tion (TTC­BA) to halt the Se­nior Car­ni­val King semi­fi­nal at the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah on Wednes­day night due to heavy rain.

Per­sis­tent show­ers be­gan short­ly af­ter the Ju­nior Car­ni­val King and Queen fi­nals and the Se­nior Car­ni­val Queen semi­fi­nals con­clud­ed, with on­ly a hand­ful of Se­nior Car­ni­val King com­peti­tors hav­ing crossed the stage.
