Grand Kadooment began with a powerful display of faith, culture, and celebration as the Walk Holy Band took its place as the first band on the road.
For Sean Apache Carter of the Walk Holy Band, being first out was a position the band embraced, choosing to maintain its place at the front of the parade rather than compete for another position.
“Very important,” Carter said when asked about the significance of the decision. “We had the option of competing for pulling position or being first band through, and we opted to remain as the first band through.”
