Director of National Border Patrol and former Region Four Chairman, Daniel Seeram, who had been convicted of assaulting his former wife and remanded to prison until his sentencing hearing, has approached the High Court for bail.
The application was made on his behalf by attorney Nigel Hughes on Friday after his court appearance at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where the presiding Magistrate, Abigail Gibbs, found him guilty of assaulting his former wife.
As such, High Court judge Justice Joy Persaud-Singh ordered Seeram to remain in Police custody at Sparendaam Police Station until his application is heard on Monday, October 5, 2026.
