A year of overdue rent amounting to around $216,000 almost led to the closure of the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) Tyre Inspection Unit, Transport Minister Eli Zakour disclosed yesterday.
However, he said the office will be opened for business following an interministerial intervention.
The TTBS Tyre Inspection Unit, which operates out of a rented space at the Laventille compound of the Vehicle Management Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (VMCOTT), had issued a public notice this week advising of closure today.
