TRINIDAD’S best kept Carnival secret must be the home-grown and locally organised Carnival Monday Jouvert celebrations and the fetes that follow them.

As in past years, the Express has observed the traditional mas character portrayals and productions have rivalled and often surpassed the creativity of better known bands in San Fernando, Chaguanas and Port of Spain.

Many Express readers were stunned on Monday when we shared video of the crowd that answered the invitation of the Cedros Regional Carnival Committee and assembled near the beach at Bonasse Village to celebrate from pre-dawn into late evening.
