Creating the wedding guest list sounds simple — until you actually have to do it. For today’s couples, weddings are becoming more personal, intentional and experience-driven. Many couples would rather host 80 people they genuinely love than invite 200 because tradition says they should. But weddings are also one of those rare occasions when family, culture, relationships and etiquette all collide. So how do you create a guest list that reflects your wedding while still respecting the traditions and people that matter? The answer isn’t necessarily to abandon tradition. It’s to modernise it.
Start With The Wedding You Can Actually Afford
Before names go onto a spreadsheet, establish your approximate guest count. Every additional guest potentially means another meal, chair, place setting, invitation, favour and portion of the bar budget. Depending on your wedding, it may also affect the size of the venue, transportation requirements and even the number of tables and floral arrangements required.
