A 39-year-old rideshare driver was abducted and violently robbed on Saturday afternoon after responding to a pickup request in Belmont.
The victim was operating his white Toyota Aqua around 5p.m. when he accepted a ride request from a woman asking to be taken to the Holiday Inn in Oropune Gardens. Upon arriving at Rigsby Lane, the victim was ambushed by three men who entered his vehicle and announced a hold-up.
The suspects forced the man to drive to Rudolph Charles Link Road, where they tied his hands and feet, blindfolded him with a dark cloth, and placed him in the trunk of his car. The men then drove a short distance before abandoning the vehicle with the man still inside.
