RELIGIOUS leaders yesterday prayed for peace in the region and called on the nation to focus on spiritual growth, urging that people seek to impart positivity amidst rising social dysfunction and global conflict.
Under the theme “One Nation United in Prayer”, the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) yesterday hosted a day of prayer and reflection at the Divali Nagar site in Chaguanas, where participating heads of the various faiths said they hoped to see Trinidad and Tobago become a more prayerful place.
Prayer was not only supplication to God but enlightens and facilitates spiritual growth, which is one path to peace, the religious leaders have said.
