TELEVISION host Ian Alleyne yesterday issued a letter via his attorneys threatening to sue San Fernando Mayor Robert Parris for defamation.

Alleyne claimed that the mayor made a derogatory comment toward him on social media, after a fire on Cipero Street, San Fernando. Alleyne is seeking an apology from Parris by Friday. Should this not be done, Alleyne stated he would take legal action.

The pre-action protocol letter was sent to Parris yesterday by attorneys Saira Lakhan and Devi Ramnarine.
