Police in the Central Division are investigating a report of obtaining money by false pretence after a man was allegedly scammed out of $7,850 during a supposed beer-and-liquor consignment deal in Port of Spain.
According to police, the complainant reported that on January 24 he was introduced via telephone to a man who identified himself as “Jammi,” who claimed he could supply beer and liquor on consignment through a manager.
Arrangements were made for the man to receive $14,000 worth of beer and liquor on consignment, with a down payment of $7,850.
