MountÂing leÂgal bills and a spike in white-colÂlar crimÂiÂnal litÂiÂgaÂtion have promptÂed the GovÂernÂment to reÂquest an adÂdiÂtionÂal $89,492,221 for the MinÂistry of the AtÂtorÂney GenÂerÂal and LeÂgal AfÂfairs.
MinÂisÂter of JusÂtice and MinÂisÂter in the MinÂistry of the AtÂtorÂney GenÂerÂal, DeÂvesh MaÂharaj, said the fundÂing is urÂgentÂly needÂed to manÂage a sigÂnifÂiÂcant inÂcrease in leÂgal acÂtivÂiÂty.
âThe HoÂnÂourable AtÂtorÂney GenÂerÂal has adÂvised me that there are now inÂcreased deÂmands on the crimÂiÂnal jusÂtice sysÂtem on the isÂsue of white-colÂlar crimes. He told me heâs parÂticÂuÂlarÂly swamped in this area at this point in time,â MaÂharaj said.
