A 40-year-old counter clerk was kidnapped and robbed after entering a car she believed to be a taxi in San Fernando on Friday night.
Police said around 8.50 pm, the woman was standing near Library Corner when a white Nissan B15 pulled up. She entered the car, believing it to be a taxi, and asked to be taken to Dow Village, South Oropouche.
When the driver reached the Oropouche roundabout, he turned onto the Shore of Peace roadway instead and continued driving, taking her against her will. He then demanded her belongings, and she handed over her Samsung A05 cellphone and a wallet containing $13.
