Cashew Gardens Residents To Get Long-Awaited Road Repairs

More than 600 families residing in Cashew Gardens received good news on Friday as Minister in the Ministry of Housing Phillip Alexander announced that repairs to the community’s roadways will be undertaken.

Minister in the Ministry of Housing Phillip Alexander toured the Housing Development Corporation community on Friday, accompanied by members of the HDC’s Rapid Response Unit, to deliver some welcome news.

“Let’s give them some good news: that under this Government, under this Ministry of Housing, under this HDC, all of these roads are about to be rehabilitated. That is the case. The people of Cashew Gardens who have been begging for years. I remember prior to elections, about four years ago, I was up here, and it was like that, and the people, I know there are a lot of people off camera who are members of law enforcement, armed forces that can’t be on camera that are delighted to see HDC here in Cashew Gardens, because Cashew Gardens felt like the land that HDC forgot where the roads are concerned.”
