DeÂspite this, merÂchants are opÂtiÂmistic that there will be a resurÂgence in acÂtivÂiÂties by next week, when some peoÂple are exÂpectÂed to be paid their DeÂcemÂber salaries.
Guardian MeÂdia visÂitÂed HomeÂland FurÂnishÂings on Queen Janelle ComÂmisÂsiong Street yesÂterÂday, where salesÂperÂson Pauline HarÂbour said she noÂticed the lack of acÂtivÂiÂty for the ChristÂmas seaÂson thus far. HarÂbour said it was a sigÂnifÂiÂcant drop in acÂtivÂiÂty comÂpared to the same peÂriÂod last year.
