SeÂcuÂriÂty meaÂsures at the PiÂarÂco InÂterÂnaÂtionÂal AirÂport were strengthÂened overnight on FriÂday, folÂlowÂing a darÂing robÂbery at the PiÂta Pit in which cash and valuÂables were stolen at gunÂpoint.
The AirÂports AuÂthorÂiÂty of T&T (AATT) yesÂterÂday conÂfirmed it had “imÂpleÂmentÂed furÂther meaÂsures to reÂinÂforce its seÂcuÂriÂty sysÂtems at the PiÂarÂco InÂterÂnaÂtionÂal AirÂport” afÂter the robÂbery that took place around 9.40 pm.
ReÂports inÂdiÂcate two feÂmale emÂployÂees were at work when a man preÂtendÂing to be a cusÂtomer walked up and asked for the price of a Sprite.
